  • J’ack Does Call Offs

    Michael Breton - Thursday, 5 November 2009 09:34

jackandmichaelI got a call today from Jeremy about J’ack. At first I was worried, but after a few words came out I could hear how excited he was. J’ack is one INTENSE malinois, with a freakishly large head that bites like a freaking crocodile. Having been on the other end of him many times I say this with love in my heart for him and scars on my arms. Read More

    Doc Is Gone

    Michael Breton - Monday, 28 September 2009 06:53

Doc (Fontaine D’or Chess) got a new home on Vancouver Island last week. His new owner Shane, plans to use him for Shutzhund so he can train at the same time as his son. Pascale was really sad to see him go. Doc was her training partner for the Harris Marathon and did many 20+ mile walks with her in preparation for it. I wanted to keep him as a stud dog and he was already in training for narcotics. He was a little too civil on the bite-work when I got him, he came off a bite-suit shoulder bite one time on a re-grip and re-gripped me right on my face. No worries, as ugly as I am no one could tell. It was nothing a bunch of superglue couldn’t fix. Read More

    Clyde Gets A Job

    Michael Breton - Friday, 11 September 2009 09:32

Clyde_big0001My neighbor is being a jerk about my dogs so I have to move a couple of them out. I decided to donate Clyde to the Davis County Sheriff’s Office in Utah. He has been all trained up for a while now and really needed a job. He will be happier riding around in a SUV than doing demos for me so it’s all good. I was hoping to sell him, God knows I could use the money, but butt-head forced the issue along. I can only hope for KARMA. Read More

    Celine Goes Tracking

    Michael Breton - Wednesday, 12 August 2009 10:04

celinetrackingyariCeline went tracking with me today out at the turf farm. We are lucky enough to have access to the fields at Fast Grass for our tracking. They are huge and always in good shape, which makes it easy for us to teach the dogs how to track. In the photo Celine is tracking Yari, a Belgian Malinois that has been tracking for about three weeks. Tracking is a great way to decompress and enjoy a nice walk with a dog.  The bonus is you are actually working, and working the dog at the same time. All while taking a walk out in nature. I really enjoy tracking. I was able to spend time with Celine, teaching her how to lay tracks and work the dogs, so that made it even better. Read More

Tea gets some love after a session on the boxes

Cass County came by today to work their dogs on the boxes with narcotics. This is a great thing for both of us. They get to use the boxes and have me work their dogs and we get to use their training aids. Read More

The Puppies On Hard Surface Tracking

    Michael Breton - Wednesday, 22 July 2009 11:25

DSC_0199-199-2Celine and I tracked the puppies using the HITT method from Steve White. basically you use distilled water to activate bacteria on the ground and have the puppies track the bacteria. All of the puppies are being trained to track on hard surfaces like asphalt, concrete, brick or stone. Things went OK, although I did my usual job of expecting Celine to “KNOW” what I wanted. Had to slow down and explain better, then things went much smoother. We’ll do this for the next two weeks and then see where the puppies are with their tracking. Read More

    Michael Breton - Wednesday, 22 July 2009 11:17

Tea On The BoxesCeline put an “oral Bridge” on Tea today with marijuana. Tea is starting to do a nose bump as her indication which is what Celine is looking for.
