    Malinois Puppy

Getting ready to go work the puppies on drive building. Three of them are doing great, but one of them spends so much time with his nose to the ground he never seems to see the toy. I don’t think I’m going to fight that, but instead will make him a “Hard Surface Tracker” and sell him as a single purpose tracking dog. Common in Europe, but not common here in the US.

The puppies are also going to run a track using the HITT method by Steve White. I was going to run a control experiment and track two using traditional and two using HITT, but they are all doing so well with the HITT method I decided to use it on all four. I tested all four of them to see which ones I would use for which method. Hard surface tracking will make them more valuable to their handlers. they did great so what the heck they all use HITT.

One of the puppies will have to sit this session out. He was running around last night and tripped over the hose to the pressure washer and hurt his leg. It’s still bothering him so he’ll just have to watch.
